Any early mist patches should soon disperse to leave a fine and very warm day with lengthy spells of sunshine and light winds for most. However, cloud thickening over the Peak District, with patchy light rain possible here later. Maximum temperature 27 °C.

Any rain and cloud over the Peak District clearing to leave a dry night with clear spells. Perhaps some mist patches or low cloud developing in some western areas. Mild. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Wednesday:

Any early mist or low cloud soon lifting to leave another dry, increasingly sunny and very warm day. A little cooler near coasts. Maximum temperature 26 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Fine and mostly dry through this period, with temperatures very warm or perhaps hot by the weekend. Perhaps isolated showers on Saturday.

Initially hot across eastern Britain in particular, with many areas dry although a few showers will be possible in places, perhaps thundery. Temperatures are likely to lower somewhat into next week, but still remaining very warm across parts of the east and southeast. There will also be an increasing chance of some showers or thunderstorms in southern and western areas, and perhaps some longer spells of rain in the far north. Later in the week and into the following weekend, higher pressure may become more influential, especially across central and southern areas where longer spells of dry and warm weather are most likely, whilst it remains cooler and generally more changeable farther to the northwest.

The wettest and windiest conditions are most likely to be focus across the in north and west, with a risk of some heavy rain at times, mainly over hills. Broadly settled across the south and east, although some rain may spread across from the north or west at times. Temperatures are expected to be near to or above normal. As is normal for the time of year, there is a chance of hot spells returning across the south and east, which also could lead to the risk of heavy showers or thunderstorms.
